SAP bringt die „Business AI Platform“ für die autonome Unternehmensentwicklung auf den Markt

SAP’s TechEd announcement positions the SAP Business AI Platform as the foundation for what the company calls the Autonomous Enterprise. The toolkit is comprehensive: AI agents, development frameworks, and integration points that let technical teams embed automation across business processes. For SAP partners and in-house teams, the message is unambiguous.

A client in Frankfurt recently paused a straightforward ABAP search and asked us to find someone who could also stand up agentic workflows inside their S/4HANA environment. The role eventually went to a candidate who had built process automation within SAP but could also articulate how AI orchestration layers connect to existing Basis infrastructure. Configuration skills got them shortlisted; the AI integration fluency got them hired.

The profiles attracting the strongest interest combine deep SAP platform knowledge with hands-on experience in AI tooling. Companies want people who can translate between their SAP Core team and emerging data science functions without losing the thread in either direction. Searches for senior SAP architects in Munich and Zurich now routinely include AI orchestration as a requirement, and salaries for candidates who can deliver both have moved up noticeably over the past year.

The Autonomous Enterprise framing signals where SAP is directing partner certifications and product development. Companies staffing their next wave of S/4HANA projects should expect the pool of qualified candidates to be shallow. A search we ran in Vienna last quarter for an SAP architect with AI workflow experience took five months to close. The specification was specific, the candidate pool was small, and the successful hire came from outside the traditional SAP consulting network. Hiring managers building teams around these capabilities will need to look beyond the usual channels.
