SAP’s position at the top of the Fosway 9-Grid for Cloud HR aligns with a shift in the mandates landing on our desks across the DACH region. Over the past six months, we have taken more searches for SuccessFactors specialists than in the previous two years combined.
The pattern is consistent. Companies running legacy on-premise HR systems are accelerating their migrations, and the talent pool has not kept pace. We placed a senior SuccessFactors consultant in Munich last quarter after a search that ran longer than the client expected. The sticking point was integration experience: they needed someone who had connected SuccessFactors to an existing S/4HANA finance environment and could speak to both HR and IT stakeholders without a translator.
That skill combination is where we see the sharpest demand. Pure HR configuration knowledge is available. Pure technical SAP Basis experience is available. The consultants who can sit between both worlds, who understand employee data flows and can argue posting logic with finance teams, are significantly harder to find. Salaries for those profiles have moved up noticeably in Frankfurt and Zurich over the past year.
HR directors considering their next hire should weigh whether to wait for the market to catch up or pay the premium now. Companies are treating cloud HR as part of their broader S/4HANA transformation, and staffing accordingly. For consultants with SuccessFactors experience, particularly those who have run integrations with core SAP modules, this is a strong market to be in.
